Pickup truck driver dead in head-on collision
DIXMONT — One man died Thursday when his pickup truck crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a dump truck on Route 9 in Dixmont. Jeffrey Goodwin, 50, of Frankfort, died in the crash, which happened shortly after noon on a straight stretch of road near the Newburgh/Dixmont town line. Chief Deputy Troy Morton of the Penobscot County Sheriffs Department said a witness told police that the pickup truck veered unexpectedly into the oncoming lane and that the dump truck’s driver, Michael Burrill, 55, of Garland, could not avoid a collision. Both vehicles ended up off the road, which was littered with debris and gravel from the dump truck.

What a tragedy! Especially considering the holidays are just around the corner. May prayers are with the Goodwin family. The trooper investigating this accident at the scene, needs to telephone me..

A telephone call went out to him last evening... Gee gaizzer I do hope the trooper is reading this. Yeah, i agree with zachary. To Gaizzer: If you have something important to this case, I feel as though you're going about it the wrong way. Shouldn't you be attempting to contact the trooper via phone? I guess I don't understand why you would add this "mystery" to the internet, for all to see and ponder. Jeff happens to be my uncle and I really don't appreciate adding drama to this situation. Our family is going through enough. If you have something to tell the trooper, call him. I'm sorry for the loss of your uncle, please,accept my condolences. It was not my intention to be mysterious, or to cause drama, as you put it. Nothing to worry about,. I was looking to get information myself. I guess you interpreted it wrong. Again, I apologize for your pain. Its the tech way, today to reach people. . To gaizzer: If your appology to the Goodwin family is sincere I strongly suggest you pick up your phone and call the investigating trooper. This family has been through so much and your comment sounded almost indicant to me. By submitting your remark you absolutely created "mystery and drama" to a family who just lost someone they dearly loved.. It is your responsibility as a HUMAN BEING to make sure any and all information you may have regarding this tragic accident be told to the right people. Shame on you Gaizzer. To the Goodwin friends and family my thoughts and prayers are with you during such a severely rough time.
